Much of my work is done “en plein air” earlier or later in the day as the light is more dramatic at those times and that is what inspires me - the intensity of light and color. Being outdoors and ”in nature” is soothing to my soul and by representing the natural world in a painting, I feel more connected to it. For me, making art is that simple.
When not painting” in nature”, I spend time painting in my studio, “Cove View”, located in Warwick, Rhode Island. Greenwich Bay, with its generous length of shoreline, punctuated with numerous marshes and coves and changing seasons, makes it a great place for an artist to work. Painting is a channel of communication without which, my life would be greatly diminished.
